Chesapeake, June 24, 2010: ABNB Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the donation of $45,000, from their Annual Fishing Fest fundraiser, to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. ABNB thanks members for their support of this worthwhile event.
This tremendous fundraising contribution is from the proceeds of the 7th Annual Fishing Fest. This represents an increase of more than $2,000 over the previous year.
“Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters is extremely thankful for ABNB and their support of the hospital,” says CHKD Development Officer Ashley Dorey. “Their continued commitment and generosity to CHKD makes a difference in the lives of over 170,000 patients we serve in Hampton Roads and we are truly grateful for all of their support. To be able to raise these significant funds for CHKD is a wonderful accomplishment!”

Nearly 150 participants along with top local radio personalities from 92.9 The Wave, 97.3 The Eagle, ESPN Radio 94.1, 100.5 Max FM and Star 1310 gathered on June 11 for a half day’s fishing excursion out of Rudee Inlet, followed by lunch donated by Carrabba’s Italian Grill.
“What a fantastic event - food, fun and fishing was the order of the day,” says ABNB Vice President of Finance & Fishing Fest Chair, Tony Duncan. “Children get sick in bad economies as well as good; we knew it would be extra hard this year to meet our goal, but thanks to our vendors, our employees and our very generous members we were successful.”
