Earn Points Using Debit Card?

ABNB – First Credit Union in Hampton Roads to Offer Rewards on Debit Card Purchases

April 11, 2007, Chesapeake – ABNB Federal Credit Union (ABNB) is breaking new ground, offering its members reward points each time they use their debit card.  As the first credit union in the region to offer such a program, its members can now earn one point for every two dollars spent on all transactions authorized by signature.  Points can be redeemed for brand-name merchandise and travel awards. 

“There’s a significant number of people who do not use credit cards and up until now, they’ve been unable to participate,” says ABNB President and CEO Carl Ratcliff.  “The rewards program is our modern day version of S & H Green Stamps.  Watching them accumulate is a lot of fun, and now everyone can take part.”  ABNB will also allow its members to pool their points, combining debit and credit card points together.
