5th Annual Deep Sea Fishing Fest Raises Nearly $36,000 for CHKD
July 24, 2008 - ABNB Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce it has donated $35,618.10 to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters from the proceeds of its 5th Annual Deep Sea Fishing Fest. ABNB was able to double its contribution over the prior year, due in large part to a $10,000 grant provided by the Children's Miracle Network and Co-op Financial Services.
Nearly 200 participants along with top local radio personalities from 92.9 The Wave, 97.3 The Eagle, ESPN Radio 1310, 100.5 Max FM and Star 94.1 gathered on June 13 for a half day's fishing excursion out of Rudee Inlet, followed by lunch provided by Outback Steakhouse.
"We could not be more pleased with the outcome of this year's event," says ABNB President and CEO Carl Ratcliff. "With the help our sponsors and vendors, along with the generous grant, we really stepped it up this year."
For over forty years ABNB has maintained a commitment to providing quality products and services along with professional and personal service to its members. With sixteen branches and five service centers, ABNB currently serves more than 45,000 members and is one of the largest home-based financial institutions in the Hampton Roads area.
