ABNB Federal Credit Union members, Cody Below and Kristin Rodil, were chosen as recipients of the 2012 Jack E. O’Connor Memorial Scholarship offered by the Tidewater Chapter of Credit Unions.
Kristin is currently enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program at Princess Anne High School, Virginia Beach, VA. Kristin was captain of PAHS’ swim team and finished 3rd in the district competition. She is also a member of the National and Spanish Honor Societies, is an accomplished pianist, a Red Cross certified life guard, a member of the youth group and choir for her church, volunteered as a tutor and assisted the Chesapeake Guinea Pig Rescue. Wishing to become a lawyer to work as an advocate for individuals who have been dealt unfair hands, Kristin will begin her educational endeavors at the College of William & Mary.
Cody currently attends Ocean Lakes High School, Virginia Beach, VA. He is an accomplished wrestler, having placed in numerous local and regional wrestling competitions for his weight class since 2007. During his high school career he was elected Homecoming Court, yearbook sports editor, participated in theater and martial arts clubs, was a powder puff cheerleader and volunteered for the MDA, Fill The Boot, and his community Easter Eggstravaganza. Cody will be attending Virginia Wesleyan in the Fall.
The Jack E. O’Connor Memorial Scholarship is offered by the Tidewater Chapter of Credit Unions to qualified graduating seniors who plan to attend a college or university. Several scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors that are members of credit unions in the Tidewater area.
