NEW HIRES AND PROMOTIONS AT ABNB FEDERAL CREDIT UNION
ABNB is proud to share the new roles Thomas Callan, Melissa Harper, and Charlene Kitchens have taken on.
Callan has been a member of the ABNB team since 2012, starting as a Member Service Representative. He previously served as Loan Center Plastics and Indirect Administrator, and has been promoted to Card Services Manager. His responsibilities as Card Services Manager include the daily activities, procedures, implementation, growth and development of ABNB’s card services operations.
In addition to his eight years of service at ABNB, Callan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Business Leadership from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University. He has done an exceptional job growing his position, as he has been instrumental in implementing protocols that have improved efficiency and profitability in our credit card programs.
Harper joins the ABNB team as a Mortgage Center Supervisor. She comes to us with 14 years of experience as a Real Estate Processor in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is a graduate of the University of Phoenix and holds an Associate’s Degree from Tidewater Community College.
In her new role Harper is responsible for assisting the Mortgage Center Manager in the operation of the Mortgage Center. She works to maintain quality, and provides committed loan service to credit union staff, members, vendors, and business partners. Her duties also include preparing files for closing, and coordinating mortgage documentation. Her leadership, management, and member-focused skills have been essential in helping our members navigate their mortgages.
Kitchens has been with ABNB since 1995 as a Relationship Manager. In her new position as Regional Brand Manager, she is responsible for ensuring the sales, service, and operational functions of the Credit Union are being performed efficiently. She also assists in marketing initiatives to increase membership and directs strategic goals and staff development within her assigned retail branch outlets.
In her 25 years with ABNB, Kitchens has gained a keen understanding of member needs and the skills necessary to build strong member relationships. She has consistently coached her teams to successful goal achievement while delivering on service expectations. She is skilled at creating working environments that are dedicated to the members, each other, and the brand.
