If you've been listening to the news lately, you may have been hearing a lot about a recently discovered bug being called 'Heartbleed'.
If you haven't, here's a link for more information all about the Heartbleed Bug.
Rest assured, ABNB systems are not susceptible.
With the widespread attention this bug has garnered, we wanted to take this opportunity to assure you that ABNB's systems are NOT susceptible to the Heartbleed bug. We can assure you that none of our systems, including ABNB @ Home, utilize the software in question.
How to best protect yourself against any security compromise?
It's always your safest bet to use a username and/or password unique to your account here at ABNB. If you're reusing the same username and/or password on other websites, we encourage you to change your password with ABNB to ensure that a compromise with someone else’s system doesn’t lead to the disclosure of the same credentials you happen to use with ABNB. It’s a security best practice to try and use different credentials for ALL websites for this reason and we encourage you to follow that best practice.
Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact an ABNB representative at (757) 523-5300.
