ABNB Federal Credit Union is proud to announce our new ABNB Community Foundation.

ABNB Federal Credit Union has a long and storied history of charitable giving and community involvement dating back to the credit union’s founding in 1960. With a commitment to making a difference in the communities we serve, the ABNB Community Foundation was launched in 2019 to support causes and charities benefiting children and families in our region.

Mission Statement:

To measurably improve the lives of families and children in the communities that we serve.

Vision Statement:

To come along side non-profit organizations who deliver vital community services and are located in communities served by ABNB Federal Credit Union. The focus is on improving the lives of families and children by providing financial and/or volunteer support.

Structure of the Foundation:

As a charitable arm of ABNB Federal Credit Union, the ABNB Community Foundation is a separate and distinct non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Likewise, it has a separate and distinct Board of Directors comprised of ABNB Federal Credit Union volunteers along with members of our senior management team who oversee the day to day operation of the Foundation. Please note that The Foundation’s financial support is explicitly intended to be in addition to any charitable giving funds provided annually by ABNB Federal Credit Union.

Requests for Funding:

If your non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization assists families and children in the communities that we serve, we welcome your application. If you’re interested in potentially receiving funding from the Foundation, kindly fill out the official Application for Funding electronic form in its entirety. Please note, the Foundation is just beginning its initial fundraising efforts during 2021, so all applications submitted will be reviewed based on the schedule below. Thank you.

    • Accepting applications from November 1 – December 31, 2021
    • Funding awards will be disbursed in January 2022 to organizations that have their grant requests approved

Help Raise Funds For The ABNB Community Foundation Using AmazonSmile

What is AmazonSmile?

AmazonSmile is a safe, secure and seamless way to raise money for the Foundation when you make Amazon purchases.

AmazonSmile is a simple way for you to support the Foundation every time you shop, at no cost to you. AmazonSmile is available at smile.amazon.com and can easily be activated in the Amazon Shopping app for iOS and Android phones. When you shop with AmazonSmile, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added benefit that AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of your eligible purchases to the Foundation.

How do I shop with AmazonSmile?

To use AmazonSmile, simply go to smile.amazon.com  or activate AmazonSmile in the Amazon Shopping app on your iOS or Android phone within the Settings or Programs & Features menu. To make it even easier to find and shop now and in the future, simply add a bookmark for smile.amazon.com.

How do I activate AmazonSmile in the Amazon Shopping app? 

  • AmazonSmile is available for Amazon customers with the latest version of the Amazon Shopping app on their mobile phone, including Android devices with version 7.0+ or iOS devices with version 12+.
  • To activate AmazonSmile in the Amazon Shopping app, simply tap AmazonSmile within the Programs & Features menu or Settings and follow the on-screen instructions. You may need to select Turn On AmazonSmile.
  • Ensure ABNB Community Foundation is selected in the Change Your Charity tab.

Do I need to renew AmazonSmile?

Yes. AmazonSmile renewals happen twice a year to keep it on your mobile app. AmazonSmile will notify you of these renewals via push notifications and through in-app notifications. If you miss a renewal you can reactivate at any time by repeating the steps to “turn on” AmazonSmile on your mobile device.

Can I use my existing Amazon.com account on AmazonSmile?

Yes, you use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry, and other account settings are also the same.

How do I select the ABNB Foundation as my charitable organization to support with AmazonSmile?

On your first visit to AmazonSmile, you’ll be prompted to select the ABNB Community Foundation to receive donations from your future eligible AmazonSmile purchases. We will remember your selected charity whenever you shop at smile.amazon.com or with AmazonSmile activated in the Amazon Shopping app, and then every eligible purchase you make through AmazonSmile will result in a donation for the Foundation.

How much of my purchase does Amazon donate?

The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. The purchase price is the amount paid for the item minus any rebates and excluding shipping & handling, gift-wrapping fees, taxes, or service charges. From time to time, we may offer special, limited time promotions that increase the donation amount on one or more products or services or provide for additional donations to charitable organizations. What is the AmazonSmile Foundation?

The AmazonSmile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation created by Amazon to administer the AmazonSmile program. All donation amounts generated by the AmazonSmile program are remitted by a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. to the AmazonSmile Foundation. In turn, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates those amounts to the charitable organizations selected by our customers. Amazon pays all expenses of the AmazonSmile Foundation; they are not deducted from the donation amounts generated by purchases on AmazonSmile.

Can I receive a tax deduction for amounts donated from my purchases on AmazonSmile?

Unfortunately, donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation and are not tax deductible by you.
